How big is that phone really?

Lay two phones over each other, at real size on your screen, and see in millimetres how much taller, wider and thicker one is.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is 15.8 mm taller and 6.4 mm wider than the iPhone 16

The outlines are drawn in millimetres, about real size on most screens. Hold a bank card against the card next to them: if it matches, the size is right.

How we calculate

The sizes are the official height, width and depth from the makers themselves (Apple, Samsung, Google and the other brands), the same list as in our case tool. Each phone lists the page its sizes come from.

We draw the outline in millimetres. A browser converts a millimetre to pixels, and that is about right on most screens, not on every one. That is why a bank card is drawn next to them: it is always 85.6 by 54 millimetres (ISO/IEC 7810). Hold a real card against your screen. If it matches the drawn one, you see the phones at real size. If you zoom your browser in or out, the drawings scale with it.

The corners are an approximation: every phone is rounded differently. This is about how big it is in your hand and your pocket, not about the exact design.
